Biosystems and Environmental Engineering integrates engineering science and design with applied biological, environmental and agricultural sciences. Experts trained in this field of engineering develop sustainable and resilient solutions to global challenges in the Nexus of Water, Energy, Food, Health and the Environment - in overall. The programme intends to improve the ability of the experts to think critically and creatively, while synthesizing, analysing, and integrating the Nexus approach towards problem solving and decision-making.
The Biosystems and Environmental Engineer will therefore;
The students of Biosystems and Environmental Engineering have the possibility to specialize in six thematic areas namely, Power and Machinery Engineering; Irrigation and Water Resources Engineering; Infrastructure and Facilities Engineering; Environmental Engineering; Food and Bio-process Engineering; Biomedical Engineering, and Fire and Safety Engineering. Upon completion, Biosystems engineers have the opportunity to be involved in industry areas related to the above specializations.
